

About the RaceThe 1.2 kilometer criterium course looped through the historic brick streets of downtown Grand Rapids. There were six races plus free kids races, open to children aged 9 and younger.The race schedule included:
PrizesThe Priority Health Classic featured a prize purse of $30,000 including primes, which are a "race within a race," giving cyclists the opportunity to compete for additional prizes. A few of the top prizes for each race included:
The CourseThe 1.2 kilometer course began and ended at the intersection of Weston Street and Ionia Avenue. It began by heading south on Ionia, then heads west on Oakes Street to Ottawa Avenue, where it headed north to Louis Street and then east until Ionia, where it headed south again.
Spectrum Health Women’s Pro Race
Spectrum Health was the title sponsor of this year’s pro women’s race. The race featured a prize purse of $10,000. The women’s cycling race was a pro-caliber event, highlighted on USA Cycling’s National Racing Calendar. This was a first for Grand Rapids.
Helen DeVos Children's Hospital Kids RaceThe Kids Races were free and were conducted on a shortened version of the race course. Children ages 9 and below were invited to participate in the Kids Races - tricycles, training wheels and two-wheeled bikes were all welcomed. Safety and fun were the focus! |
